Bryant Library
Sauk Centre, Minnesota
Heart failure took Reggie's life on November 20, 1998. Of indeterminate age, he arrived a full grown cat on the doorstep of the local librarian during a March blizzard. Later he was established at Bryant Public Library as a cat-in-residence, serving his post with decorum and dignity. His gentle ways earned him the title of "Prince" among the children. He became the motivation for the founding of the Library Cat Society in 1987. Sadie, his library help-mate for two years, survives him as does his other siblings. Forever loved in memory, he is immortalized as are many of his library cat compatriots, on film in the video, Puss in Books: Adventures of the Library Cat.
